Letter from the President

1 May 2016

Dear members and friends,

First of all I would like to thank you for entrusting the Managing Board, which I have the honour of heading, of continuity towards the next six years. We have ahead of us one of the biggest as well as fascinating challenges, that of renewing the licence in 2018 in order for the Club to continue growing and improving specially thinking of the future of the entity and its members.

In the past General Assembly you gave us your trust as members for the work carried out but specially for the task we have ahead to continue to be one of the reference Clubs at social, sports and tourism level. Undoubtedly, a major responsibility for all of us.

Over the past months we have already introduced some changes to modernise our facilities, thinking of the member’s comfort and which are focussed on key actions such as the improvement of the Restaurant and parking specially in heavy activity periods, during which members will receive a preferential treatment.

I would also like to outline the sports activity developed over the past months, both with the organisation of events such as the GAES Christmas Race, the Palamós International Optimist Trophy or the Zoom8 Europeans, among others, bringing thousands of visitors from around the world as well as the results of the sailors that compete all around the nation representing our Club. The Sailing School keeps growing and being a reference in all Catalonia.

And of course, congratulate ourselves for the 70th anniversary of Club Nàutic Costa Brava, an anniversary we celebrate this year and that will play a key role in the Member’s evening (Nit del Soci) to be held on Wednesday, 3rd August which, year after year, keeps growing and makes us feel well supported to start this new and thrilling period.
